Description

We are looking for a mentor for our group insurance disability team!  This position contributes to customer service satisfaction and company profitability by playing a leadership role in the disability department, including delegating tasks and resources (visual indicators), meeting daily workload targets (visual indicators), promoting teamwork and implementing process improvements. This position is one of support to the disability team and aims to contribute to quality assurance and ensure that processing times are met.

  • Support a team of disability professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for insureds in the area of short- and long-term disability through various internal and external tools and resources
  • Communicate client satisfaction standards to staff and manage in accordance with these standards
  • Assist in the management of disability claims, as required
  • Provide immediate on-site assistance to case managers in assessing claims
  • Perform quality control based on set criteria
  • Monitor daily case manager workloads to ensure an equitable distribution of work
  • Create and maintain a positive team spirit and a healthy work environment by demonstrating an active and dynamic presence on the floor
  • Participate in discussion meetings on complex cases when required
  • Provide technical assistance with the following: TIDE, TANGO, calculations
  • Act as a replacement for other mentors

Desired profile

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • At least three years of relevant experience in the field of disability insurance
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excel in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Advanced level of French
  • Intermediate level of English as the person will participate in meetings with English-speaking customers and with case managers based in Toronto, write review notes in English on a weekly basis
  • Completion of LOMA, HIAA, ICA, NIDMAR and CEBS course an asset
